What if Blogging Were Expensive?

I had to chuckle when I read that subject from the Juice Box Jungle email. Over the past couple of months I’ve had a few opportunities come up that meant me digging in my own pockets to carry out what was necessary. I’ve received many more pitches that require me to pay shipping or carry out what I like to call “public service announcements” – those reviews that are not only not providing a product for my time, but nothing else in return either. I started blogging for two main reasons. The first was a combination of loving to write and the sense of community you get from blogging. The second reason was to make money, some how, some way. I’m sensible enough to realize I probably would not make much at first but anything would help. I knew what I eventually wanted from my blog the moment I started. What I didn’t know for sure was the path I was going to take to get there. Although I have many more ideas now, it could definitely still change. I guess that does make me a Blogtrepreneur. I am a firm believer you have to love what you’re doing, and I love blogging. Regardless of how much money I ever make, I would still do it because I love it. However, if it ever cost me more than the little bit here and there that it does now, I would have to regrettably give it up! Why did you start blogging? Would you continue if it became expensive?
