I have twin boy/girls. I used the paci’s and my son used it way more than my girl. they both just stopped using it at different times (~within 2 mo’s of each other). They had no problems giving up the paci. well, i think they didn’t. I can’t remember it too clearly now as they’re 3 & I’ve moved on to new ‘debates’ to deal with :) Like when or when not to nap, etc;)

Only one of my 3 ever used a paci, given at the hospital by the nurses… and even he spit the sucker out by six weeks.

We don’t/didn’t use a paci, a doctor tried once and my MIL even tried {a few times} to get her to take one and she rejected it each time. We planned on her not using one from the get-go anyway, so it worked well!

My son loved his paci like a pet dog. Easier to take care of than a puppy, so we were good with that.

My 1yr old takes the paci for naps and bedtime only! But when she sees another baby with a paci, she will definitely try to steal it. It is kind of cute but gross at the same time. ughh

I was completely against the paci with my daughter. She didn’t want it so it was easy. THEN my son was born and he DEMANDED one! He only uses it when he sleeps and it’s been a complete sanity saver. He’ll give it up when he’s ready, just like my daughter did with her thumb. It’s definitely taught me to not be so judgemental of other parents!

I had three kids and all three of them refused the paci at three months old when they realized there just wasn’t anything coming out of it. I have a grandson the just turned 6 months and I love it. He is definately a sucker.

My son is 14 month old and still use the paci. I’m planning to take it away from him before he turns 2 I know it’s going to be hard maybe some crying, hoping it wont take longer then 2-3 days for him to get use to it.
